This past weekend was a busy one for Kwality Kontent as our team spread out across Lagos and Abuja to catch some of the hottest events in the city. From sweaty all-night parties to a private listening session, we experienced it all firsthand. Instead of just headlines or quick recaps, we decided to tell the story of each event through the eyes of those who were actually there—the atmosphere, the standout moments, the fashion, the flaws, and of course, the final ratings.
Here’s how the weekend went down.
9000: Afro Extravaganza – SNM

I went for this event called “9000 – Afro Extravaganza,” and honestly, I didn’t have any expectations because I was a plus one. I just trusted my friend not to take me to rubbish sha loool. She’s a real partier, so I knew we would have fun even though I didn’t exactly know the scenery.
The crowd was filled with cool kids, but I just wish people danced at parties. Like, why don’t people dance at parties anymore? Anyways, what’s my business? I danced. I brought it to life. Why are you there then? I got in around 11pm and left at 2:45am after my people had performed.
My highlight of the night was when I got on top of the speakers to dance lmaooo. Anxiety is so scared of me mehn. Lagosians, though, they really know how to put on an outfit. I’d rate the fashion an 8/10, but sometimes it feels like they choose fashion over comfort.
As for the organization, security ke? I didn’t see any security at all. But timing was great—the party started relatively early compared to other parties. If there’s one thing I’d change, it’s how they handled VIP; it seemed too crowded.
Overall, I’d give the event a 7/10. I always make sure I enjoy myself when I’m outside though. And yes, I’d definitely attend another edition.
No Rema, No Party – Beverly

I attended “No Rema No Party,” and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much—just mid at best. When I first got there, the atmosphere was chilled, but within minutes the energy shot up and the vibe was really good. By around 1 or 2, the energy started to drop, and the party wrapped up a little after two.
One of the standout moments for me was when they called people up to perform a Rema song—the crowd went wild! Everyone that got on stage actually performed so well, the energy was super high, and the vibe was just too good. Plus, they walked away with some cool merch.
The dress code was “dress like Rema,” and people really showed up for it. Some went all out copying his style, but honestly, everybody looked nice and added their own twist.
In terms of organization, everything was up to standard. The venue was spacious and not overly crowded, there were free drinks on ground, the sound was clear, timing was well-coordinated, and security was present, which made the whole experience enjoyable.
Well, people expected Rema himself to show up because it was a Rema party, but he didn’t. Apart from that, the event definitely delivered. The atmosphere was lively, the performances were engaging, and the overall setup made it a good experience. My only issue was that they kept playing a particular set of Rema’s songs, which got a bit boring after a while. He has so many tracks they could have rotated through all night.
Overall, I’d rate it a 7/8. I had a good time, and it was definitely worth attending.
Anti World Gangster Summer Grill – Kussman

The event I attended was the Anti World Gangster Summer Grill. Being a Lagos boy, of course I wasn’t early—and thank God I wasn’t. I got there just seconds before ODUMODUBLVCK arrived, and you know there’s no dull time with Big Kala.
One of the standout moments for me was meeting Zlatan for the first time. He’s such a happy guy, and everyone loves him. His freestyle with Fatboy and ODUMODUBLVCK really caught my attention.
I honestly wasn’t paying much attention to fashion that night—everyone just wanted to party. But the organization was top-notch and definitely up to standard.
The event delivered beyond expectations. I only spent 24 hours in Abuja, and it was crazy because we even took the party elsewhere afterwards, at The Cage. I had way too much fun. My only complaint? The chicken no reach me.
Overall, I’d give the event itself an 8/10, but the afterparty was a solid 10/10.
Seyi Vibez Live In TBS – Hoody

I attended Seyi Vibez Live In TBS this past weekend. I didn’t go in with very high expectations, but I was curious to see how it would turn out. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was energetic, strong-willed, loud, and honestly, happy. That vibe carried through till the end.
Some of the standout moments for me were when Seyi brought out Muiz, when Olamide came on stage, and of course, Seyi performing “Shaolin” five different times. Those moments had the crowd completely locked in.
When it came to fashion, most people seemed to have an “I don’t care” attitude, but there were still some standout styles in the crowd. Organization-wise, they had sound issues a couple of times, which brought the mood down a bit. Overall, I’d give that aspect a 6.5.
Did the event deliver on expectations? The crowd really came through, and I enjoyed the music, so yes. I definitely had a good time—more like it. If I had to point out what could have been better, I’d say sound and security.
All in all, I’d rate the event a 6.5/10.
Show Dem Camp African Magic listening party – Rakim

I attended SDC’s listening party for their forthcoming album. I didn’t have high expectations going in, but the event turned out to be really fun. The overall atmosphere was calm and peaceful, and the crowd was made up mostly of music execs. I spotted Boj, Gost and Tec, Godwin Tom, Anthony (Lojay’s manager), Anthony Azekwoh, Ajebutter, and Dowe from Orchard.
The standout moment for me was when the artists came in and started playing and talking about the music. On the album, they’ve got features from Bnxn, Tems, and Moonchild Sanelly. The Bnxn and Moonchild Sanelly collaboration stood out the most, while the Tems record was only teased for a few seconds.
The fashion and style at the event were dope—people looked really nice. Boj especially stood out to me; he really knows how to dress. The organization was also pretty solid. They capped the guest list at 100 people, and the venue itself was quite dope. Security was tight, and the sound setup was unique because it was a private listening party—you couldn’t hear the music outside, only through headphones. That made a lot of sense and added to the vibe.
Even though I didn’t go in with expectations, it felt like SDC accomplished their goal with the event. I definitely had a good time, and I got to reconnect with friends I hadn’t seen in a while. Honestly, I don’t think it could have been done any better. On a scale of 1–10, I’d rate the event an 8.
